Effective forecasting is one of the most important attributes of a successful store. The Paladin POS software provides a sophisticated forecasting engine to help stores forecast inventory needs as accurately as possible which in turn will improve the GMROI on their investments. [
One of the ways to seriously hurt your store's bottom line is to have an item sitting on a shelf for an extended period of time. This is especially true of seasonal items that sell extremely well during a week or month-long period but poorly during the rest of the year. The inventory module in Paladin POS features a sales graph that displays seasonal trends and allows you to better understand the suggestions provided through the purchase order process. [
The sales graph in the inventory module is a good general indication of an item's sales totals during a period in time. The graph is generated dynamically based on sales data from the preceding 52 weeks. It also displays the historically expected sales values for the next four weeks (the grey bars in the graph to the right of the current week). [
The example above shows how user-friendly the sales graph is to read and interpret. The data used to generate the graph is based on the item's weekly sales totals. In this example we can see that the item sells much better between December-July than it does the remaining months. [
